Walking on the Shore

During my treatment, I used art to get through many difficult times. Art was my escape and my happy place. I love taking pictures of nature and finding the beauty in each one. It helps me calm down and forget about the worries of life. After I take photos, I go through my camera and find photos that I can use to make paintings. Usually, when I pain, I use the photo for reference. Most of the photos I take are memories. The photos I took of Carpinteria beach show some of my favorite spots. I use a beach wheelchair to capture some of these memories of the past. I used to walk down by the shore and collect shells, and my family called me the Shell Queen.  – Emily B.
